The CMFA Financial Education Course
Welcome to this online Financial Education course. This course has been produced by the CMFA in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank and Microfinance Opportunities, which worked on curriculum design.
The course focuses on three areas:
- Budgeting: planning for your income and expenses,
- Saving: putting money aside for the future, and
- Borrowing: understanding the benefits and risks of using someone else's money as opposed to your own.
The course consists of 13 core learning sessions, as well as a pre-test and post-test. Each session has links to video clips as well as links to the electronic version of the Financial Education Workbook. This will allow you to practice the concepts.
A certificate will be given at the end of the course, once you have achieved a score of at least 8 out of 10 points from the post-test. You have only two attempts to take the post-test. If you are not successful after your second attempt, you will have to review the entire course again along with the exercises in the Workbook.
